About This Quote

This quote comes from the Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling. Harry spends his last summer at Privet Drive with his aunt and uncle, who are strict Muggles. Harry learns that he has magical powers and that he can speak to snakes.

He also meets a girl named Lacey Plunkett who is a very good reader. Harry gets jealous because Lacey reads lots of books and even gets to go on magic trips. In this scene, the narrator tells Harry that reading is something that takes you anywhere you want to go.

You can even make friends who share your love of books.
